We greatly respect your privacy, which is why we make every effort to provide a platform that would live up to the highest user privacy standards. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully, so you can fully understand our practices in relation to Personal Information. Important note: Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit in any way your statutory rights, including your rights to a remedy or other means of enforcement.

What Personal Information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used
Taranis’s mission is to implement this Privacy Policy because your privacy, and the privacy of other users, is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your Personal Information is collected and used in connection with the Services. “Personal Information” means any information that may be used, either alone or in combination with other information, to personally identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, an email address, a phone number, a home or other physical address, or other contact information.
This Privacy Policy can be updated from time to time and, therefore, we ask you to check back periodically for the latest version of this Privacy Policy. If we implement material changes in the way we use your Personal Information, in a manner that is different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you by posting a notice on our Website or by other means and take any additional steps as required by applicable law.
(i) We Process the Following Personal Information:
a. Personal Information You Provide Directly to Us. We collect the following information you provide directly to us, including, without limitation, Personal Information when you browse and make use of our Services.
• In order to use certain services that we offer via the App, you may be required to create an account (“Account”). If you create an Account you will be required to provide us with certain Personal Information, such as your name and email address, as well as a user name and password that you will use for your Account. You may also choose to provide additional Personal Information, such as your phone number, professional position, and profile picture, as part of the Account registration process and in connection with your ongoing use of your Account.
• If you “Contact Us”, for example, via the chat on the App, by email and/or by calling us, you may be required to provide us with certain Personal Information such as your full name, email address, phone number, specification of who you are (agronomy adviser / ag retailer / grower / other), if you are a grower, we ask how many acres do you farm and which crops do you farm (Corn, soybeans, cotton, sugarcane, other) and any other information that you decide to provide us with.
• When you request a demo we collect your: first name, last name, email address, phone number, specification of who you are (agronomy adviser / ag retailer / grower / other), if you are a grower, we ask how many acres do you farm and which crops do you farm (Corn, soybeans, cotton, sugarcane, other) and any other information that you decide to provide us with.
• When you complete forms and documents, at your sole discretion and decision, for the Taranis conservation services (e.g., to obtain funds for your agricultural fields and projects), we collect: first name, last name, email address, phone number, specification of who you are and your property, reasons for which you want to apply to the Taranis conservation services, and any other information which is necessary to complete the forms and documents, as well as any other information that you decide to provide us with.
b. Personal Information from Other Sources. Taranis may also obtain Personal Information about you from other sources, including publicly – or commercially- available Personal Information, and through third-party data platforms, partners (e.g., agricultural retailers) and service providers.
c. Automatic Data Collection. We may automatically collect certain information through your use of the Taranis Services (including, without limitation, cookies, analytic tools, pixels, log files, and other tracking technologies (all together “Technologies”)), such as your Internet protocol (IP) address, cookie identifiers and other device identifiers and other information about actions taken through the use of the Taranis Services and/or of your device (e.g., mobile device type, mobile device id, and date and time stamps of App use).
At all times, you may choose whether or not to provide or disclose Personal Information. If you choose not to provide mandatory Personal Information, you may still use parts of the Services, but you may be unable to access certain options, programs, offers, and services that involve our interaction with you.
(ii) We process Personal information for the following purposes:
a. To provide you with the Taranis Services. Taranis will use your Personal Information to provide the Taranis Services and to identify and authenticate your access to the parts of the Services that you are authorized to access by sending you an SMS or an email.
b. For Administrative Purposes. Taranis may use your Personal Information (i) to respond to your questions, comments, and other requests for customer support (for example, to change your password), or information, including information about potential or future services (by email or SMS); (ii) to provide you with the Taranis Services; (iii) to review, assess, analyze and submit your conservation forms, application and/or submissions; (iv) to charge you for the Services that you may purchase from us; (v) for internal quality control purposes; (vi) to establish a business relationship; and (vii) to generally administer the Taranis Services;
c. To Market the Taranis Services. Taranis may use Personal Information to market the Taranis Services. Such use includes (i) notifying you about offers and services that may be of interest to you; (ii) tailoring content, advertisements, and offers for you, including, targeting and re-targeting practices; (iii) conducting market research; (iv) developing and marketing new products and services, and to measure interest in Taranis’s services; (v) other purposes disclosed at the time you provide information; and (vi) as you otherwise consent.
d. Security purposes. Some of the abovementioned information will be used for detecting, taking steps to prevent and prosecuting fraud or other illegal activity; to identify and repair errors; to conduct audits; and for security purposes. Personal Information may also be used to comply with applicable laws, with investigations performed by the relevant authorities, law enforcement purposes, and/or to exercise or defend legal claims.
e. De-identified and Aggregated Information Use. In certain cases, we may or will anonymize or de-identify your Personal Information and further use it for internal and external purposes, including, without limitation, to analyze and improve Taranis services (including through the use of artificial intelligence) and for research purposes. We may use this Anonymous Information and/or disclose it to third parties without restrictions (for example, in order to improve our services and enhance your experience with them and/or to develop new product features and improve existing offerings). “Anonymous Information” means information which does not enable identification of an individual user, such as aggregated or de-identified information about the use of our Services.
f. Cookies and Similar Technologies. We, as well as third parties that provide content, advertising, or other functionality on the Taranis Services, may use Technologies to automatically collect information through the Taranis Services. We use Technologies that are essentially small data files placed on your device that allow us to record certain pieces of information whenever you visit or interact with the Taranis Services. If you would like to opt out of the Technologies we employ on the Taranis Services, you may do so by blocking, deleting, or disabling them as your browser or device permits.
(iii) The lawful bases we rely on for processing personal information are (if and when applicable):
a. The data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data;
b. Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract;
c. processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject; and/or
d. Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interest.
2.1 Security. We have implemented and maintain reasonable technical, organizational and security measures designed to protect your Personal Information. The security of Personal Information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards, including the use of appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards, to protect the Personal Information submitted to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use reasonable acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security or confidentiality. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the Personal Information will not be compromised as a result of unauthorized penetration to our servers. As the security of Personal Information depends in part on the security of the computer, device or network you use to communicate with us and the security you use to protect your user IDs and passwords, please make sure to take appropriate measures to protect this Personal Information. 2.2 Retention of your Personal Information. Your Personal Information will be stored until we delete our records, and we proactively delete it, or if you send a valid deletion request. Please note that in some circumstances we may store your Personal Information for longer periods of time, for example (i) where we are required to do so in accordance with legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements, or (ii) for us to have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges, and/or (iii) if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your Personal Information or dealings.
We may share your Personal Information as follows:
3.1 The Personal Information Taranis gathers is shared with our partners and other third parties.
3.2 We may also share Personal Information with our affiliated companies about you.
3.3 We may share your Personal Information with our third party service providers and partners to process your Personal Information for the purposes outlined above, including, without limitation:
3.3.1 With cloud service providers for hosting purposes. Please note that we do not ourselves host any of the services – all hosting is done by third party service providers that we engage. This means that data you provide us or that we collect from you (including any Personal Information) – as further described in this Privacy Policy – is hosted with such third party service providers on servers that they own or control. Regardless of where such third party service providers are located (and some are located in the US), their servers may be located anywhere in the world (including the US). Your data may even be replicated across multiple servers located in multiple countries. So please be aware that you are consenting to your data being transferred to various third party service providers around the world (including the US);
3.3.2 With websites and web content creation platforms in order to help us manage our Website and the Services;
3.3.3 With email providers, marketing, CRM, other similar tool providers;
3.3.4 With analytic companies, in order to help us understand and analyze information we collect in accordance with this policy; and
3.3.5 With manufacturing companies, third party advisors or agricultural retailers.
3.4 To the extent that you request us to submit an application and/or form as part of Taranis conservation services, we may need to share such information with the relevant authorities, governmental body and/or banks.
3.5 To the extent necessary, we may disclose your Personal Information or any information you submitted via the Services with regulators, courts, banks or competent authorities, if we have a good faith to belief that disclosure of such information is helpful or reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations and rules (including, without limitation, federal, state or local laws), and requests of law enforcement, regulatory and other governmental agencies or if required to do so by court order, as well as for internal compliance procedures (for example to enforce our EULA, including investigations of potential violations thereof) and to protect the safety, security, and integrity of Taranis, our Services and the public; and to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud or security issues.
3.6 If, in the future, we sell or transfer, or we consider selling or transferring, some or all of our business, shares or assets to a third party, we will disclose your Personal Information to such third party (whether actual or potential) in connection with the foregoing events (including, without limitation, our current or potential investors). In the event that we are acquired by, or merged with, a third party entity, or in the event of bankruptcy or a comparable event, we reserve the right to transfer or assign Personal Information in connection with the foregoing events.
3.7 Where you have otherwise provided your consent to us for sharing or transferring your Personal Information.
4.1 Rights: You can exercise your rights by contacting us at privacy@taranis.com. Subject to legal and other permissible considerations, we will make every reasonable effort to honor your request promptly in accordance with applicable law or inform you if we need further information in order to fulfil your request. When processing your request, we may ask you for additional information to confirm or verify your identity and for security purposes, before processing and/or honoring your request. We reserve the right to charge a fee where permitted by law, for instance if your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. In the event that your request would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others (for example, would impact the duty of confidentiality we owe to others) or if we are legally entitled to deal with your request in a different way than requested, we will address your request to the maximum extent possible, all in accordance with applicable law.
4.2 Deleting your account: Should you ever decide to delete your account, you may do so by emailing privacy@taranis.com. If you terminate your account, any association between your account and Personal Information we store will no longer be accessible through your account.
4.3 Marketing emails – Opt Out. You may choose not to receive marketing email of this type by sending a single email with the subject “BLOCK” to privacy@taranis.com. Please note that the email must come from the email account you wish to block OR if you receive an unwanted email from us, you can use the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the email to opt out of receiving future emails, and we will process your request within a reasonable time after receipt. We may still send you a response to any “Contact Us” request as well as administrative emails (for example, in connection with a password reset request) that are necessary to facilitate your use of our Services.
We do not offer our products or services for use by children and, therefore, we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from, and/or about children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, do not provide any Personal Information to us without the involvement of a parent or a guardian. In the event that we become aware that you provide information in violation of applicable privacy laws, we reserve the right to delete it. We enable you to interact with third party websites, mobile software applications and products or services that are not owned or controlled by us (each a “Third Party Service”). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Third Party Services. Please be aware that Third Party Services can collect information from you. Accordingly, we encourage you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of each Third Party Service.
8.1 Our California Do Not Track Notice: We Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a privacy preference that users can set in certain web browsers. Please note that we do not respond to or honor DNT signals or similar mechanisms transmitted by web browsers, but, we may allow third parties, such as companies that provide us with analytics tools, to collect personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across different web sites when a user uses the Services.
