The Problem We Face

We must continue to grow more food using fewer natural resources and less farmland. By 2050 the human population is expected to expand to 9.7 billion people.

How do we feed 10 billion people without using more land while still lowering our emissions?

+ 50% more food, feed and biofuels
+ 70% increase in calorie intake per capita
– 20% less arable land per capita
+ 24% global greenhouse gas emissions
– 30-40% crop loss due to pests

Regenerative Agriculture is the Solution

Regenerative agriculture improves long-term farmer livelihood through reduced costs, improved crop yield and crop quality, and greater resilience to market volatility and extreme climate events. It also opens new green revenue streams for farmers, such as rewarding them for carbon capture and storage in the soil.

Improving Environmental Impact and Food Security

Innovative solutions like Taranis allow farmers to increase productivity and profitability potential and adopt climate-smart agriculture practices to ensure a safer and healthier environment.

Our crop intelligence solutions use artificial intelligence (AI) and remote imaging technologies to automatically detect crop threats. Insights enable farmers to:

• Increase crop quality and yield
• Maximize efficiency of fertilizers and crop protection inputs
• Strengthen global food security & increase nutritional quality
• Preserve soil health and minimize adverse environmental impact

Helping Dedicated Land Stewards Fund Their Conservation Practices

Growers increasingly use farming practices that improve soil health. However, building a scalable and economically feasible conservation validation program remains a challenge worth addressing.

Taranis conservation services provides farmers with simplified application and practice validation opportunities for USDA conservation funding programs.

“Taranis is redefining how crop input and management decisions are made on the farm. Our service aligns perfectly with USDA’s mission to promote conservation while maximizing profitability for growers. Therefore, we have an edge in obtaining funding from USDA programs for our growers,” Taranis CEO Opher Flohr explains. “I believe this is just the start—as USDA continues to add funding for precise application practices that are unlocked by technologies like Taranis, we will be vigilant to make sure our growers are first in line to receive those funds.”
